Avalanche is a high-throughput, EVM-compatible platform with sub-second finality and the flexibility to run custom L1s for isolated, enterprise-specific chains.
Kaleido provides enterprise-grade Avalanche node hosting plus click-to-deploy Avalanche L1s so you can build performant, resilient asset platforms.
Pair Avalanche’s throughput and subnet architecture with Kaleido’s automation and compliance capabilities to deliver large-scale, production-grade solutions.
Avalanche is a public blockchain platform known for sub-second finality and for letting organizations launch their own independent chains, called Avalanche L1s. Its C-Chain runs the EVM, so Ethereum contracts and tools work on it, and AVAX is the native token used for fees and staking. Kaleido hosts Avalanche nodes and deploys custom Avalanche L1s for institutions.
Kaleido hosts enterprise Avalanche nodes for the C-Chain and the Fuji testnet, and offers click-to-deploy custom Avalanche L1s for institutions that want an isolated chain. Kaleido is listed in Avalanche's integration directory as an enterprise blockchain platform, and adds monitoring, gas management, custody and tokenization on top of the nodes.
An Avalanche L1, previously called a subnet, is an independent blockchain with its own validators, rules and gas token that still connects to the wider Avalanche network. Institutions use L1s to keep a chain permissioned, set their own fees and meet compliance needs. Kaleido manages the full L1 lifecycle, including configuration, automated upgrades, validator permissioning and governance.
Kaleido runs dedicated Avalanche nodes for workloads that need their own capacity, with secure operations, monitoring and gas-management controls. Nodes run on Kaleido's managed infrastructure across cloud providers and regions, with high availability, disaster recovery and 24/7 support options, so teams don't size hardware or maintain node software themselves.
The Avalanche C-Chain is EVM-compatible, so Solidity contracts, Ethereum wallets and standard tooling work on it, and custom Avalanche L1s can run the EVM too. Avalanche reaches finality in under a second. Kaleido uses the same smart contract manager, transaction management and token tooling on Avalanche that it uses on Ethereum.
An institution launches its own Avalanche L1 when it needs control a shared network can't give: a fixed set of permissioned validators, its own fee token or no fees, and isolation from congestion on other chains. The cost is running validators and governance, which Kaleido handles as a managed service, with bridging tools to move assets between chains.
Kaleido Custody holds AVAX and Avalanche-based tokens in wallets backed by its key management service, with HSM support and multi-party approval policies on each transaction. The same controls cover Avalanche L1s that run the EVM, so a fund or bank can issue and hold tokenized assets on its own chain with one custody setup.
